International Quilt Week Yokohama 2008
Quilt Contest
The International Quilt Week Yokohama 2008 will be held from November 6 - 8 at Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall. This event is organized by the Quilt Week Executive Committee.
@With this event, the Quilt Week Contest is annually held and it's open to quilters from around the world. The Grand Prize is 1,300,000 yen, Semi Grand Pri Prize is 500,000 yen
and the top winner of each category will receive \150,000 each. (Prizes include both cash & gift prize.) There are many other prizes from sponsors. The prize-winners' quilts will be exhibited at the International Quilt Week Yokohama and may be published in our magazines.

Rules
- Anyone can enter a cloth quilt or work by submitting slides of the completed work and an entry form.
- Quilts must be constructed & quilted by person(s) named on the entry blank.
- Quilts must be quilted by hand, machine or both. All works except quilts must have patchwork in some part.
- Works published in a magazine/book or accepted in a contest are ineligible.
- All entries must have originalities. Works totally by other's design/s or kit quilts are not acceptable.
- No limit for the number of entries per person.
- Size of a quilt: one side must be more than 1.5m(59") and less than 2.2m (86.6").
- Quilts for the category "Machine quilts" must be made completely by sewing machine except binding.
- Quilts have to be able to be folded. They are folded while keeping and shipping.
- Framed work is not acceptable.
- Each photo must has the title of the entry, the maker's name and an arrow indicating the top on the back. Photos will not be returned.
- Full-view photos must show all edges of the finished work. Close-up photos must show the quilting stitches.
- Each quilt must have a 10cm(=4") finished, fabric sleeve sewn in the full width of the quilt, securely stitched to the top edge on the backside. Quilts without a sleeve will not be accepted.
- Each entry must have a fabric label including the name of the entry, the name/s and address/es of the maker/s, securely stitched on the back side.
- Incomplete, torn, or soiled quilts will not qualify for entry or exhibition.
- Patchwork Tsushin Co, Ltd. (one of the committee members) reserves the right to publish the prize-winners' works. The prize-winning works may be kept for a while at Patchwork Tsushin Co, Ltd. for being photographed or exhibition(s).
- The final judgement will be held in the beginning of August and the result will be notified by the end of August.
- Because of unpredictable currency fluctuations, the contest fee which will be required for the final judgement later will be only paid by credit card (Visa or Master).
Timetable
The entry form and photos must be received by Patchwork Tsushin Co, Ltd. no later than June 15.
Those who passed the first judging will be notified to send their works for the final judgement by July 31 with the entry fee(*) including the return shipping and insurance while the work is in Japan.
If the entry does not receive any award at the final judgement, the work(s) will be returned to its owner and will not be exhibited at the show.

- A completed & signed entry form per entry. Incomplete entry form won't be accepted.
- Two color print photos of the entry (1 full-view & 1 close-up of the completed work) per entry
