The 9th INTERNATIONAL QUILT WEEK Yokohama 2001

Last Year, at the International Quilt Week Yokohama 2001, there were 71,400 visitors, 768 attendants of the lectures/workshops, 146 companies exhibition (234 booths), and 1,245 quilts displayed. Now it is known as one of the biggest patchwork and quilting events in Japan. This year, we will hold the 10th International Quilt Week Yokohama 2002 and it is open to everyone who loves Patchwork & Quilting. We will be happy if you can take part in this exciting event! We are looking forward to your participation in near future!

    An auction with the quilts and quilted items will be held at the main venue. All the income will be contributed to charity activities through NHK Association for Welfare & Culture. We are accepting the donation for this auction. Please send your quilt or quilted small items.

    It is the show that presents new commodities, accepting the orders and having
    business negotiations. It is mainly for Traders, specialty Stores, Department Stores,
    Supermarkets, and Mail-order Businesses.

    Over 250 booths are expected from quilt shops, grocer's and any other kinds of shops with lots of pleasures and fascination.

      How to get to Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall.

    From Tokyo area:
    1. Take Keihin-Tohoku Line for Ofuna or Isogo Station.
    2. Get off at Sakuragi-cho station. (45 minutes from Tokyo to Sakuragi-cho)
    . *Or, you can take To-kaido Line from Tokyo and get off at Yokohama Station .(27 min.) and switch the train to Keihin-Tohoku Line to get off at Sakuragi-cho station.(3 min.)
    3. At Sakuragi-cho station's gate, turn to the left and get to the Bus depot and take a Bus at Pole # 4.
    4. The bus you need to take is # 130, 131 . Get off at Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall. (It takes about 5 minutes.)
    • You can also walk to the exhibition hall and it takes about 12 minutes. (please use the escalator and walking staircase right beside the Bus Depot on your left. You will go through a couple of buildings but keep on going straight and you will find the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall.
    • You can also take a taxi.
    From Narita Airport (New International Airport) or
    Haneda Airport (International Airport)
    You can take a shuttle bus or limousine bus that goes to JR Yokohama Station or Inter-Continental Hotel Yokohama.

    1. From Narita Airport, Airport Limousine Bus takes you directly to Yokohama area. Some of them will bring you directly to the Inter-Continental Hotel (right beside the venue), which leaves at 07:20, 14:40, 15:40, 17:00, 18:00 and 20:00. Other buses leave more frequently to YCAT (Yokohama City Air Terminal). It will take about 10 minutes from YCAT to the venue by taxi; it will cost around 1,000 yen.
    After you come out from the customs gate, you will easily find the Limousine Bus counter with a big orange signboard where you can get tickets and necessary information.

    FARE: 3,500 YEN
    TIME: Approximately 2 hours(depends on the traffic condition)
    2. Narita express Train takes you to Yokohama Station from the basement floor of the airport. All seats will be reserved. It will take about 10 minutes by Taxi (from Yokohama Station to the venue) and costs around 1,000 yen.
    FARE: 4,180 YEN

    3. Taxi is available at the taxi pool in front of the arrival terminal gate.
    FARE: Approximately 40,000 YEN
    TIME: 90 minutes (depends on the traffic conditions)
    4. From Haneda Airport, Airport Limousine Bus takes you to YCAT (Yokohama City Air Terminal). It will take about 10 minutes from YCAT to the venue by taxi; it will cost around 1,000 yen.

    *Inter-Continental Hotel Yokohama is located right beside the Exhibition Hall.
